Vision & Breath

Vision When I was younger, I took a photo in the family backyard. We had a huge yard, all things considered, with lots of trees, and our lot ran back against an undeveloped, wooded lot. When I developed and printed the photo I took—35mm color—I saw a little figure in it. I grabbed a magnifying […] … Continue reading…Vision & Breath

Making Maps, Seeing the Sights

I see how I’m treading over much of the same ground, that I am “inventing wheels.” But…I think I need to do that. Much of my work has involved psychic therapy… Much of it has been exploratory, a process of acclimatization, and practical…I can’t help but see the patriarchal threads throughout many of [these other systems], or the racist threads elsewhere, or the ideologically-driven threads still elsewhere. And in those senses, my resistance to those other systems has been political as I choose how I wish to make and shape myself while working to open myself to other beings (humans and otherwise), to the Otherworlds, to the world, to everything while remaining in authentic contact with the deeper parts of myself. … Continue reading…Making Maps, Seeing the Sights

Body, Fetch, Talker, God Soul, and: Part 6: God Soul and Other Names

I suspect that transcendentalist thought has done much to obscure God Soul, Sacred Dove, “higher self,” what I call Elaith, and so forth—and I suspect that the reality is that the path to apprehending God Soul has as many steps or layers as you need/want/expect. I think we also tend to render God Soul as […] … Continue reading…Body, Fetch, Talker, God Soul, and: Part 6: God Soul and Other Names

Body, Fetch, Talker, God Soul, and: Part 5: Reweaving Talker

Talker as a talker uses language, uses stories, and we use stories to assemble Talker. (Really, Talker assembles Talker from stories.) Some folks like to say Fetch likes symbols, and they mean sigils, visual symbols, things like that—but Talker loves textual symbols, words, stories, and more. Of course, I’m not saying anything peculiar to esotericism. […] … Continue reading…Body, Fetch, Talker, God Soul, and: Part 5: Reweaving Talker

Body, Fetch, Talker, God Soul, and: Part 4: More about Talker

In Magick Without Tears, Crowley advises to begin memorizing the Qabala while also internalizing and applying it to one’s daily life: There is no better way of training the memory than the practice of the Holy Qabalah. The whole mechanism of memory depends on joining up independent data. You must go on adding a little […] … Continue reading…Body, Fetch, Talker, God Soul, and: Part 4: More about Talker

Body, Fetch, Talker, God-Self, and: Part 3: Talker Continued

If Talker mediates our experience of not only ourselves—our identities and our perception of those identities—but also the worlds that we experience, then we should prioritize shaping and weaving Talker to amplify and augment our power-from and our resulting freedom. The psychic censor (or as I’ve come to term it, halthaya, hurur, and mûl-ôl) convinces us […] … Continue reading…Body, Fetch, Talker, God-Self, and: Part 3: Talker Continued

Body, Fetch, Talker, God-Self, and: Part Two: Fetch and Talker

Old folktales, legends, and myths point to concepts like the Fetch, Doppelganger, and Vardøger and/or Fylgja, and Ka and so forth as supernatural doubles (or attendant spirits) that some people manifest at various points. A corporeal person has a body and a spiritual presence (that they may or may not be aware of). Modern occultism has […] … Continue reading…Body, Fetch, Talker, God-Self, and: Part Two: Fetch and Talker

Body, Fetch, Talker, God-Self, and: Part One: Introduction & Body & Fetch

Many traditions divide the soul/self into a variety of parts, elements, and so on. Those familiar with the GD system know that they adapt and steal a qabalistic model: Neschamah—the highest part of the self, that which the soul aspires towards Ruach—the middle part of the self, that which relates to the mental faculties Nephesch—the […] … Continue reading…Body, Fetch, Talker, God-Self, and: Part One: Introduction & Body & Fetch

The Guardians: Part One

This post begins a series on the Guardians, and this post serves as my overly broad introduction on that topic. My knowledge of the Feri Guardians comes primarily via T. Thorn Coyle, but with some inflection from other sources. I have learned that many Feri initiates considered the Guardians initiatory knowledge, lore only to be shared […] … Continue reading…The Guardians: Part One
